John D. Wood

John D. Wood, Esq. is a sustainability advisor, legal scholar, keynote speaker, and Member of the New York State Bar. Before founding Econautics Sustainability Institute, a public-interest research, education, and advising firm, John worked with an array of non-profit environmental organizations including the Institute for Policy Integrity, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and the American Conservation Association, on issues including regulatory reform, climate change mitigation and adaptation, hydraulic fracturing for hydrocarbons, and environmental justice. His research experience includes federal environmental law, risk management, water contamination, climate change, tort law, human nature, and constitutional law. He is co-author of the textbook Foundations of Sustainable Business: Theory, Function, and Strategy with Wiley-Blackwell (forthcoming, 2014). John has spoken on sustainable business issues before the New York State Senate Environmental Conservation Committee, the Institute of Supply Management New York/New Jersey Chapter, and the NYU Green Alumni Network, among other venues. He earned his B.A. in English and Philosophy summa cum laude from Texas Christian University and his J.D. from New York University School of Law.
