Edward Barr

Ed Barr worked in Corporate Communications and Marketing for over 20 years and dealt with several bull shark events as described in this book. His way of telling stories about those events is engaging and illuminating. Also, his methods for identifying, avoiding, and dealing with crises will help any company see their way through chaotic events. He has taught these principles at Carnegie Melon University where he has been on the faculty or staff for over 30 years.

Before beginning his career at CMU, he served as a marketing executive in both for-profit and not-for-profit companies for over 20 years, including Chief Marketing Officer at iCarnegie, a CMU for-profit. As a marketing professional, he conducted business in Brazil, Colombia, China, India and the US.

He has taught in China, India, Amsterdam, London, Kazakhstan, Mexico and Panama. He has taught corporate executives and staff at Cognizant, an IT service company with over 200,000 employees and Cinepolis of Mexico. He has also taught Professional Writing, Business Communication, Marketing, Negotiation, and Strategy.
