William Sims Bainbridge
William Sims Bainbridge has written 30 academic books and about 300 articles or book chapters, in areas such as technological innovation, social movements, and modern culture. He has edited two encyclopedias, one on human-computer interaction and the other on leadership in science and technology. He represented the social and information sciences in organizing the Converging Technologies conferences of the US government, which resulted in 11 edited volumes that sought to unite “NBIC:” nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology and cognitive science. He currently serves as a program director in the Information and Intelligent Systems division of the National Science Foundation.
